Practise tasks like the real assessment. Use your attempts to spot important gaps and decide what to practise next.

## Start with what you must show

List what you need to demonstrate: explain a design, solve a case, diagnose a failure or present evidence. Practise a task that tests one of those skills.

## Turn criteria into tasks

'Architecture' is a topic, not a practice task. Turn it into something you can check: explain a design for five minutes, choose between two options or troubleshoot a case. Match each task to an assessment criterion.

When you know the format used by an employer, certification or promotion process, practise in that format. This guide does not replace its requirements.

## Try before you review

Try a few allowed practice tasks before reviewing the material. If the assessment checks unaided work, practise without notes or AI. Record what you could do, where you hesitated and what went wrong. Try more than one task type; one attempt is a narrow sample.

Use those results to adjust your plan. Give more time to a gap they reveal; keep your current allocation if results support it. If you tested too few tasks to judge, try another before making a major change.

## Practise the important gaps

Spend more time on a gap when your work is weak and the criterion matters to the assessment. Familiar topics can still need maintenance, but practising them again should not crowd out a more important weakness.

Keep the foundations that help with several tasks. Prioritising gaps does not mean studying only what feels difficult.

## Learn, recall, apply

First understand the idea. Later, explain it without the source in front of you. Then use it in a case, explanation or decision like the assessment. Some skills are learned by doing from the start; these are different jobs, not a fixed sequence.

Closer to the assessment, spend more of your practice on representative tasks. Reading may fill a knowledge gap, but it cannot by itself show that you can recall and use the idea.

## Keep a one-page practice plan

For each main criterion, keep six lines:
Criterion — what you need to show.
Practice task — what you will produce.
First attempt — what happened before review.
Priority — how large and important the gap is.
Next practice — a small task for that gap.
Recheck — when you will try a fresh task.

Use the next attempt to review the plan. If the gap has narrowed, move time to another need. If progress stays flat, reconsider the practice instead of simply adding hours.

## Set a stopping point

Decide when to stop adding material: the main criteria have practice tasks, important gaps have been checked again and you have met your chosen readiness checks. Add something new only if the assessment changes or it addresses a specific remaining weakness.

Your practice plan cannot guarantee an assessment result. The aim is to base preparation on what your work shows, rather than anxiety, new resources or hours studied.
